KIA General Membership Meeting

What a beautiful day to have the first KIA General Membership Meeting since January 2020. Kupu, a valued KIA member, provided the venue and delicious lunch. The mid-day shining sun, cool trade winds blowing, and the sounds of the Pacific Ocean provided the ambiance.

Three excellent speakers provided information on the different types of mobility modes to get around Kakaako. The first speaker was Julie Yamamoto, from Hui Car Share (she became our newest KIA member at the meeting), second was Patrick Goldstein of Wheels, and the last speaker was Todd Boulanger representing Biki Bikes. The entire meeting can be viewed on our website at www.kia-hawaii.org/n092022.html. Click here for Hui Car Share info and here for Wheels info.

KCAA Muriel Preschool Donations

A few KIA members donated school supplies or cash to help the KCAA Muriel Preschool teachers fulfill their "wish list." Territorial Savings, Senator Sharon Moriwaki, Sherry A. Goya, LLC, and WCIT Architecture gave a box or bag full of supplies. Stanford Carr Corporation donated $1,000 and Keahou condominium donated $20 to help with more supplies. The keiki of KCAA made thank you cards right away!

KIA Networking Event

The first in-person KIA Networking Event since 2019 will be held on Wednesday, October 26th from 11:30am in the conference room of Waterfront Plaza (formerly known as Restaurant Row) located at 500 Ala Moana Blvd. Parking will be validated by KIA member Parallel Capital Partners. This is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Lunch) meeting; but of course bring business cards, flyers, brochures, etc. to share with all. RSVP requested so that there will be enough chairs around the large conference room table. Email Sherry Goya, KIA Executive Director, at sgoyallc@aol.com or call/text 808-722-8487.

KIA Board Profile

You may have seen him surrounded by cameras at the back of a General Membership Meeting. Or photographing players at the golf tournament. No, that’s not a someone that KIA hires to document its events. That’s board member Peterson Rosario.

Starting as a committee member with the 2012 golf tournament and as the videographer for in-person GMMs Peterson has been with the board since 2015.

In addition to having a camera in hand at events Peterson also helps KIA Executive Director Sherry Goya with the monthly newsletter  and also maintains the kia-hawaii.org website.

When he’s not busy with KIA stuff he does work his business. As the owner of dooplikit, a 3D scanning and 3D printing company, Peterson creates “doops,” or 3D selfie figurines of people, pets and objects. He also does professional photography, videography including multi-cam setups (just like a TV studio) and immersive 360-degree experiences. And there’s also developing and managing websites for various companies. Visit dooplikit.com for more info.

When not working he volunteers his time with the Miss Chinatown Hawaii organization, the Music for Life Foundation and various other non-profits.

FYI, Peterson’s image above doesn’t mean he’s stiff. It is of a 3D scan.
