KIA Board Elections

Just a Reminder

KIA membership dues for 2017 were emailed to those companies whose membership expires December 31, 2016. Some members have renewed in December already, and KIA hopes the rest will renew in January. If there are any questions about the renewal date, please contact Sherry Goya, Executive Director at sgoyallc@aol.com or call her at 722-8487.

New Members Welcome

Membership in Kakaako Improvement Association is open year around. Current members are encouraged to invite persons or companies who live, work, or play in Kakaako; but more importantly, those who want to keep abreast of projects, activities, events, and news in the area. Membership is $75 for individuals or a company with less than 20 employees; $150 for companies of 21 to 49 employees; and $200 for companies of 50 or more employees. KIA membership benefits are a monthly newsletter, two General Membership Meetings and two Networking Events at no charge. The KIA website has an application that can be downloaded and mailed with check or charge information.

JABSOM Health Fair

The John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) will hold a community health fair, presented by the first year class, on January 15th from 11:30am - 3:30pm in order to promote health and wellness. The event will be held at the JABSOM campus in Kaka'ako. There will be a variety of activities including free kidney health testing, zumba, meditation, a blood drive, entertainment by medical students, educational booths, guest speakers and much more. SAVE the Date

The first KIA General Membership Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 25th from 11:30am at the Ward Warehouse 2nd floor conference room. Guest speakers will be a representative from HART, HCDA and Kamehameha Schools. KIA Members will receive the most updated information on all topics. RSVPs will be taken in January for KIA members plus one guest. Lunch will be provided, and there is no charge to attend; however, those who make a reservation but do not attend will be asked to reimburse KIA for the $10 cost of lunch.
