KIA Networking Event

There were seventeen companies represented at the KIA Networking Event held Wednesday, April 15th in the Cupola Events Room of KIA member Honolulu Design Center. A big Mahalo to Thomas Sorensen for the use of the room, as well as the great lunches that some of the attendees enjoyed at a discounted price.

Although not a KIA member, HCDA’s community and media representative, Lindsey Doi, is always invited and attends as a guest.  Anyone interested in receiving the HCDA monthly newsletter via email may ask to be added to her list at lindsey.doi@hcdaweb.org.

Feeding Hawaii Together is a nonprofit in Kakaako who offers food, clothing, household goods and furniture to people in need, all at no cost to the customer. Need a KIA member who installs communication and technology in a low voltage environment, contact Global Technology Corporation. For over 34 years, Valenti Print Group has been a Kamaaina company who provides commercial printing, offset and digital printing, while also offering to create, print and mail any piece.  The GM of Hokua will be a valuable KIA member as he has been in the area for thirty years. MGA Architecture does work in Kakaako; i.e. designed the Honolulu Design Center, currently renovating the Gold Bond Building, and more.

Insight 2020 is a mystery shopper company; and Modern Luxury Hawaii, a lifestyle publication in English and Japanese. New KIA member Local Vox is a full service website design company.  Territorial Savings & Loan’s goal is to be a part of the community with their full service commercial and residential services. Need a commercial real estate company who really knows Kakaako, contact NAI Change Brooks. Located at the bottom of Hokua, Bank of Hawaii can service all your banking needs.

The KIA President is the Senior GM for Howard Hughes Corporation and believes this is an exciting time for Kakaako. Hawaii Care and Cleaning does all phases of contract cleaning in the area. Assisting many to declutter and/or move homes, donate, throw or sell unwanted items, and remove the family stress, Senior Move Managers/DeClutter Hawaii can handle big and small jobs. GSB Hawaii (Mystical Video) can do productions, commercials, weddings, birthdays, graduations, etc. with a show in real time projected on a screen. Sherry A. Goya, LLC is a 23 year old business consulting firm working with individuals and companies needing marketing, mailing, advertising, distributing, coordinating, and administrating services.

KIA Member News

Logos Bookstore of Hawaii is a “Village Post Office,” selling postage stamps and offering free flat rate boxes, at 760 Halekauwila Street.  They also accept flat rate boxes for mailing. Their hours are Monday: 9:30am - 6pm; Tuesday-Thursday: 9:30am - 7pm; Friday-Saturday: 9:30am - 8pm.

The Honolulu Design Center is offering FREE INspiration Design and Lifestyle Workshops on Saturday, May 23rd from 10:3am to 4:00pm in their third floor loft area. Workshops given by Interior Designer Debbie Cullison,  Real Estate Broker and Marketing Director of the Honolulu Design Center, Joett Colgan,  President of Graham Builders, Evan Fujimoto and Kitchen Designer Hinano Nahinu, Manager of INspiration's Kitchen Studio. Workshops cover topics on "How to Make Modern ‘Trendproof',"  Downsizing How To's , Kitchen Design Saavy and Tips on Getting a New Home Project Started. The best place for a keiki’s birthday party is at the Children’s Discovery Center. Spend a couple hours playing on all three floors, ride a special carousel, and have your lunch in a private room.

Sherry's granddaughter Alexis celebrated her 4th birthday there.
