KIA Networking Event

Another Corvid-19 "first" is coming up this month. The very popular KIA Networking Event will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, October 21st from 11:30am. This will be a great way to meet and learn about KIA members while maybe even having a nice lunch. As with all past networking events, in this new Zoom-land, we will all be seen and heard as if we were sitting around the conference table....just don't need to dress up and drive downtown!

Please RSVP to Sherry Goya, KIA Executive Director at sgoyallc@aol.com so that she can reserve a space. All those who RSVP will receive the Zoom link on Monday, October 19th, so that they can just "click" and be in the meeting. Sherry will have a list so that she can introduce attendees when we "go around the room" to introduce ourselves and give a short two to three minute presentation. Also as with past networking events, we will go back around the "room" again to ask for any comments, questions, accolades, etc. to share with everyone. The November KIA newsletter will have a summary of all attendees.

2020 Elections

Beginning with the 2020 elections, Hawaii votes by mail, and all registered voters will automatically receive their ballot in the mail at least 18 days prior to election. For Oahu, ballots will start being mailed out by October 5th and 6th. The General Election is November 3rd, however, ballots should be mailed at least five days before then in order to be counted. Drop boxes are being placed throughout Oahu. For more information, call 808-453-VOTE. You can also email: elections@hawaii.gov or check out their website at elections.hawaii.gov.

KIA Board Meetings

Since April, the KIA Board of Directors have been meeting via teleconference calls and most recently through Zoom. Their work on behalf of the Kakaako Improvement Association has not stopped in 2020. In fact, the August KIA General Membership Meeting was held via Zoom, and the upcoming October 21st KIA Networking Event will also be via Zoom.
