2023-2025 KIA Membership Directory

Those in attendance at the April 26th KIA Networking Event were the first to receive the 2023-2025 KIA Membership Directory, as it was just picked up from Obun Group that morning (they did a fantastic job!). Extra copies were given to some to take back for their staff; or with First Foundation, they took copies to give their new customers. All other KIA members were mailed the directory on April 29th. Copies were also mailed to the Hawaii Community Development Authority, and will be delivered to some of the buildings in Kakaako. Anyone who wishes copies for their staff, clients, or potential KIA members should contact Sherry Goya, KIA Executive Director at sgoyallc@aol.com or call/text 808-722-8487.

KIA Referral Program

Starting May 1, 2023, the KIA Board of Directors has implemented a KIA Membership Referral Program to bring in new members to the association. This is only good for current KIA members who have paid their 2023 dues. This program expires December 31, 2023.

The referral program will give any current KIA member a discount on their 2024 membership dues. The discount amount will be $40.00 for a new KIA member, and is good up to $80 for two new members joining before July 1, 2023. After July 1, 2023, the KIA membership dues are half price, therefore, credit for the current KIA member’s 2024 dues will be $20 for each new member, up to $40 when joining in 2023.

KIA Board members or the KIA Executive Director are not eligible for this referral program. Contact Sherry Goya, KIA Executive Director at sgoyallc@aol.com if you recommended a company who joined KIA and she will email the KIA Referral Program Form.

KIA Input Requested

Does any KIA member have concerns about their property taxes? Although the deadline to contest your property tax has ended, discussion for next year's taxes would be good to start now. Should we have the City be a speaker at the August KIA General Membership Meeting? These are questions that KIA Member, Michael Han of The Wedding Ring Shop discussed with Sherry Goya, KIA Executive Director, this month. Please contact Michael at 808-945-2800 or email him at mike@weddingringshop.com to start the conversation. He is very interested in hearing from other KIA members who may have concerns about their property taxes.

KIA News

One of the first KIA renewals for 2023 was long-time member AOAO 1350 Ala Moana who was missed in the February and March KIA newsletter. Mahalo to them for their continued support.
