KIA General Membership Meeting

It is time to RSVP for the first KIA General Membership Meeting for 2019 which will be held at Dave & Buster's on Wednesday, January 30th from 11:30am to 1pm. All KIA members are invited at no charge, with one guest, by emailing Sherry Goya, KIA Executive Director at sgoyallc@aol.com with name(s) of attendees. KIA members who would like to invite two guest, the cost is $15 for the breakfast. Deadline is January 23rd.


Guest speakers will update KIA members on a variety of topics:


Todd Apo, from Howard Hughes Corporation, will give KIA members a great presentation on the "public-open space" in the Ward area once occupied by Marukai.


HART's Executive Director and CEO, Anthony Robbins, will update everyone on the progress happening in Kakaako to date pertaining to the rail.


Dr. Scott Miscovich and Andy Mounthongdy, from the Queen's Hospital, has very timely information on the H-4 project to assist the homeless in the area.


The Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation will give background and update on their project in Kakaako by Craig Hirai.


Attendees may bring business cards, brochures, flyers, etc. to distribute and network with fellow KIA members. There will be a table provided.


NOTE: If an RSVP is made and the attendee does not cancel by January 23rd, or does not attend on January 30th, please mail a check for $15 to KIA at P. O. Box 3776; Honolulu, HI 96812 to reimburse for the lunch. In the past, there were over 5% lunches paid for but not consumed. MAHALO for this consideration for this nonprofit organization.

KIA Board of Directors

The KIA Board would like to welcome Jeffrey Sandborn of Diamond Parking as a new Director. He has been with Diamond Parking for over 31 years, including over 45 years of management experience.  


For 2019, the KIA Board has voted the following officers: Michael Libertini, President, Jeff Sandborn, Vice President and Baron Nakamura, Treasurer/Secretary.


2019 Membership Dues

KIA members who are on a January-to-December renewal are asked to print the attached renewal form with payment accepted by check or charge. Membership is important to keep KIA active in Kakaako with HCDA, the government, legislature, council, companies, and individuals. The monthly newsletter will continue, there are two General Membership Meetings and two Networking Events FREE to members, as well as an updated website.
